Introduction and Design Features |

The
all-new PV is designed to provide all the answers to all the
needs of the rotary table user.
The
PV is based on existing technology, however it has embraced
the improvements in all areas of the design and manufacture
of rotary table components, to provide the end user with optimum
performance and safety, combined with user friendliness not
found in other manufacturers products.
The
PV is faster, more accurate, more flexible in operation and
carries more component weight than any other standard CNC
rotary table of its size anywhere in the world.

Some
of the PV design features include: -
A
taper cleverly located deep into the face of the table, meaning
tools from the carousel of the machine can be mounted directly
into the table face, saving the need for the purchase of an
additional collet or chucking device. The table has a through
bore allowing for long components to mount through the table
body if required. The table face is also designed to DIN 6350,
the standard chuck recess mount type fitting. This allows
for any make of standard off the shelf chuck to locate straight
onto the high accuracy spindle nose (for information regarding

The
main spindle is mounted in high accuracy angular contact bearings,
which produce a run-out of less than 5 microns (better than
P4 running accuracy).
The
integral Air over Oil intensification braking system provides
for massive clamping forces. These are generated from a simple
low pressure air supply. This supply is also used to provide
a regulated air purge facility to the motor cover and direct
axis encoder, ensuring total security from coolant ingress
to the fully sealed electrical compartment.

Accesories
available for the PV range of tables

A
specially developed Direct Axis encoder measurement system
is mounted within the rear of the unit. The 18,000 line encoder
system is the smallest of its type anywhere and provides direct
positional feedback from your component. This is far the most
accurate method of component positioning and is found generally
on rotary products much larger than the PV.
The
pneumatic connector to the main body of the table is designed
to allow quick release from the PV. The unique design is also
completely safe for the user as the coupling automatically
shuts off the external air supply prior to the operator disconnecting.

The
main drive system of the table is manufactured from a high-grade
specially hardened steel. The gear set is a heavy duty Hypa-Drive
gear set with a large conical worm-shaft fully meshed with
the gear set across its face rather than the edge of the gear.
This provides very high power of transmission, very high turning
speed and high retained turning torque.
The
PV is designed to fit even the smallest VMC machine, the motor
cover is positioned to allow the spindle head of the machine
to reach the nose of the table without the possibility of
collision. The motor cover itself sits in the dead area of
the machine table. No wasted space, maximum component capacity.

The
PV has all the features and functions of a "large" CNC
table, its small frame disguising it's capability. The PV gives
a small machine a big capacity having a large faceplate, a direct
mount three jaw chuck and tapered chucking feature. The tables rotational
and bearing accuracy allows the user to carry out even the smallest
and most delicate of operations.
